Wolvesacre Mill Cottage Reviews

Good accommodation and very helpful owner who allowed us in earlier to get changed for a wedding at adjacent iskoyd park.
William
We have enjoyed our second visit to Wolvesacre Mill Cottage. This charming cottage is beautifully presented and very comfortable. Its location enabled us to explore the surrounding countryside and provided a good base for visiting many of the delightful market towns in the immediate area.
Lovely cottage, beautifully furnished lots of pieces that the owner had picked up in antique shopsauctions etc, so it felt like a home not an anonymous cookiecutter holiday home. We had a couple pf problems a blocked toilet, and wifi didn't work when we arrived, which were very promptly dealt with and fixed
Caroline
We hired the cottage for my son's wedding, so my two brother's their wives my sister her partner my husband and myself had a wonderful time in the cottage. The cottage was warm welcoming clean and first class. Well worth a stay.

How we love Wolvesacre Mill Cottage! It is always spotlessly clean, cosy and inviting. This visit, as well as the usual dog treats, we were welcomed in with twinkling fairy lights and Christmas trees and the fire set to light. The 4 bedrooms are spacious, also two large bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed. There are loads of great dog walks as you step out of the door. The town Whitchurch has a station and a big supermarket, but if you dont want to drive everyday Ocado will deliver. The owners and their lovely team are easy to contact and very quick to respondhelp if needed. We have had very enjoyable and memorable breaks at Wolvesacre Mill Cottage and hope to return.
Lovely cottage, very comfortable and cosy over Christmas week. Extra touches in place ie cottage dressed for Christmas, which was welcoming on arrival. Owners and housekeeper very friendly and couldnt do enough to make stay enjoyable.

The cottage was perfect for us Clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped and the cottage was spacious and in an ideal, quiet location. The owners were friendly and called by to see the us. I would definitely return and can happily highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay, the grounds keeper came to ask if they could fill in the pot holes which was no bother and didnt impact us at all and they knocked on after to thank us which we thought was a lovely touch, amazing location however the road down to the house was a bit of a wild ride! Also lots of spider webs but to be expected in an old house. We left a suit there that were just waiting on confirmation of how to post it back but the house keeper called straight away to let us know wed left it which was really nice of her!

A good location for a wedding we were attending at Iscoyd Hall. The property has some excellent points but also some not so good. The first issue was the not so well made track to get to the property. We contacted the owner once we had the specific directions, to check it was suitable for cars as my son has a sports car. We were told yes it was not an issue that they didn't have 4x4s and it was fine for cars. The track is steep but passable for the first hundred yards but just before you get to the bridge there are 4 very large potholes, with one nearly the width of the track so no option but to go through it. My son's car did scrape the bottom so luckily it was only one trip in and out as we had a taxi to the wedding. The taxi driver mentioned the road was getting worse each time he drove it. It was also dry the weekend we went I am sure it would have been more treacherous if raining. We are aware there needs to be rules but from our experience they are usually in the cottage information. But in this accomodation there were two picture frames in the kitchen with instructions on how and when to leave and they key code was also on display which could be seen through the window. We decided not to risk leaving the key in the safe incase someone used the code to get in. Perhaps due to it's location it is very safe but we have never had this before and even when visiting a property for a second time there has always been a new key code. Also the need to strip the beds seems a little odd as you would not have to do this in a hotel. The instructions seemed to relate to COVID which would have been expected but now COVID is endemic it seems a little odd to have to strip beds. The kitchen is ok, if small, but utensils could have been better to include sharper knives and 8 of the same glasses etc and a few more food recycling bags would have been good. We know the house is old but a lock on both doors of the downstairs bathroom would be helpful, together with a latch that works on the door to the stairs and on the window of the twin room. NOW FOR THE POSITIVES. The house was spotless and it was lovely to have fresh flowers in some of the rooms. The beds were very comfy and we all slept very well. The garden was delightful and we were lucky to have sun to be able to enjoy sitting outside with the gurgling of the Brock. The way the fire was laid with pine cones was also very welcoming and we did enjoy the fire crackling away. We were also just a mile from the wedding venue which was perfect and not far from Malpas the Lion has an excellent menu and Whitchurch with plenty of supermarkets and a lovely main street. We had a comfy weekend and cannot stress that whilst there were some negatives there were also lots of positives about this property.
A delightful, elegantly decorated cottage set in beautiful, serene surroundings. We would definitely stay again.
Lovely cottage for a family get together. Superb location for visiting in Cheshire, Shropshire and Wales. Accommodation was spacious and cosy. Excellent communication from the housekeeper before our stay and checking in with us on arrival. Would highly recommend.
Sharon
Really enjoyed our stay. The cottage, garden and surrounding area was much better than expected from the description. The owner making sure we had everything and were comfortable was lovely and friendly.
Michael
A beautiful cottage in a really peaceful setting. The cottage is in a lovely setting, with a babbling brook running through it and lots of green space. It has rustic charm but still includes everything you need for cooking etc. Our dog is quite nervous, so to be able to have real peace and quiet and plenty of space for her to roam was ideal for us and made a huge difference. There are loads of good walks nearby too. Julie the housekeeper was helpful and the owners friendly too. We'll definitely be booking again.
Absolutely perfect for our wedding. The organisation was brilliant and got a phone call the day before to let us know details too.
Samantha
Lovely cottage with beautiful surroundings. Cottage finished to a high standard and very welcoming
We had a lovely few days relaxing at the cottage before our daughter's Wedding. What a special tranquil setting, just what we needed! With thanks to Julie for keeping in touch prior to our arrival.

This home was perfect for us. We had a wedding at Iscoyd Park. It was quaint and very comfortable. The only issue is trying to find the house.
Robert James
Lovely cottage. The only thing which Lets it down slightly is that the window in the kitchen is missing a latch so you cant close it. Will certainly use again when we come up to visit my mum nearby
Jordan
We had a lovely stay at this beautiful cottage! Had great amenities, and was true to pictures. Lovely, clean and comfortable and set in such a lovely location, far enough away but close enough to shopspubtakeaway.
A beautiful warm cosy cottage. Spotlessly clean. Julie the housekeeper was very helpful giving advice as to local facilities etc.
We had an amazing time at Wolvesacre Mill Cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful, extremely clean and very well equipped. It is located in a wonderfully peaceful spot, next to a stream, and we couldn't have wished for more. We found this area great to visit and feel that, in a week, we only scratched the surface of what there is to see and do. The housekeepers were brilliant, giving us lots of advice on what to do and where to go, and were super efficient sorting out a problem with the shower. We would love to go back and couldn't recommend the cottage more.
This cottage was first class in every degree and proved very comfortable for our stay, a base for walking the Sandstone Trail. Our only gripe related to sporadic periods of low water pressure and an initial problem with being unable to control the temperature of the shower. However, the owners were very responsive to us reporting these issues and arranged repair immediately.
We have a very nice stay at Wolvesacre Mill Cottage. The quietness and the location was lovely and gave us a relaxed stay.
The stay has been great. The property is highly recommended and the house has all the amenities for a pleasant stay.
Claire
The cottage was spotless. The things put in place for covid were wonderful. The garden was amazing for the dogs.
Debbie
A lovely cosy property in beautiful grounds. The cottage is very spacious. A good sized ground floor bedroom, extremely comfortable bed, good quality bedding. Very quiet location away from traffic. Walks from the doorstep.
Peter John
Beautiful cottage in a lovely rural setting but not too far from a shop. Friendly owner and cleaning lady! Lovely dcor. Well supplied.
Barbara
Really nice cottage in tranquil location. Good comms with the housekeeper. Lots of nice walks on the doorstep or a short drive away. Dogs loved it.
Dorrie
Gorgeous cottage with plenty of character and a lovely spacious secure garden. Beautiful surrounding fields, lovely walk to the local pub. Really spacious cottage, plenty of room for 6 adults and a dog. Wonderful facilities, just what we needed. Friendly owners live nearby, but left us to it throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend.
What a beautiful cottage in the perfect Tranquil countryside setting. The beds are so comfortable, the house is very stylish warm and welcoming and has a lovely open fire. We found the cottage very well equipped and we cooked every night including a Sunday lunch! The setting is Perfect for walking and running with a relaxed feeling of peace and quiet but so easy to get to the supermarkets or to Chester. The house sits alone in a lovely big sunny garden with a large outdoor table and chairs where we enjoyed time outside with friends. Both the owners and the housekeeper could not have been more welcoming, I didnt want to leave and cant wait to return.
Andrew
The housekeeper was very welcoming. She brought us some extra blankets clean, which was wonderful, as it was unseasonably cold. It was a very quiet and relaxing break. A real getaway from it all holiday. Loved the downstairs bedroom. Very cosy. Thank you.
The perfect country cottage, it even had roses round the door! The housekeeper was amazing and everything we needed was there, it was clean, cosy & warm and was ideal for our party of 6 adults & 2 dogs. The beautiful garden with a little stream at the side was newly fenced and totally safe for the dogs to play outside. The downstairs bedroom & en suite is ideal for elderly or less mobile guests and the upstairs bedrooms had wonderful views over the garden. The outside table & chairs was ideal for al fresco dining and from the cottage we could walk for miles along the canal or through the maize fields & country lanes. A wonderful relaxing holiday in this beautiful cottage...we will be back. Thank you
A lovely weekend break with family in lovely surroundings. Thankyou xx
A very comfortable holiday with plenty of seating for a family of 7 around the table or in sitting area. The cottage turned out to be considerably more spacious than it looks on the website.
Barbara
Fabulous holiday cottage in great location. The photos dont really do it justice. All is to a very high standard. Cant recommend enough.
