Rhydygaled Reviews

Christa
Absolutely beautiful property in a stunning and tranquil location. The house is very comfortable and catered to our party of all ages. We particular loved the front garden for games and the wood burner in the lounge for cosy evenings. The kitchen is also very well equipped. Thank you to Phil and Erica for the thoughtful welcome gifts.
Lovely cottage for a get together with family, hosts were friendly and helpful. Couple of nice pubs in Llanarmon to eat at. Cottage had all the amenities required for what we needed.
Alison
Beautiful home in a gorgeous setting with very helpful hosts. We particularly enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and the variety of birds at the bird feeders. We had the most glorious weather for April, and there are plenty of different places to sit outside and enjoy the sun. All in all the perfect venue for a schoolfriends catch up and in between all the chat, lots of lovely places to visit and beautiful walks! We wouldn't hesitate to return.
We had the best stay ever on this amazing large cottage. The children especially loved the cosy living room with recliner chairs and log fire for movie nights. A well supplied kitchen with an amazing intimate viewing window onto the specially built bird feeding area was my personal highlight. Surrounding by beautiful serene hills, the local shop is a short drive away. I would highly recommend visiting the nearby waterfalls which have an excellent cafe and viewing platform. Our wonderful hosts even posted my sons special teddy bear which he accidentally left. 10 out of 10. Would definitely stay again

This was an amazing find the location was unbelievably breathtaking and I live in Cornwall. The mountain views and fields with lambs and sheep were fabulously rural rather like the Cornish coast is with sea and sand. The property was really well kept and having a downstairs bedroom meant it was great for me and my poor old osteoarthritic right knee whilst my nimbler friends went upstairs. There was a very grounded, inviting ambience in the cottage aided and abetted by the wood burning stove which we made use of every evening as the cold air took over from the warmer day at this time of the year late March 2026. All the rooms were well appointed and the kitchen in particular was well stocked with more than sufficient crockery and cutlery and the lounge area had a large TV with easy to access apps. The garden front and back was not at its best given it is still waiting for spring but again a very restorative impact for our morning coffee and I could see the bones of what would become as beautiful as the property photos. In fact, as a gardener, I would quite happily potter in it too. We travelled out both full days and ate out too and the cottage is within easy distance of sights we went to Lake Vyrnwy and had a tasty lunch in the hotel there, and Pistyll Rhaeadr and I was grateful, as were my friends, that I'm used to narrow single lane roads with passing places! I highly recommend The Wynnstay Inn too and there are a handful of places with Wynnstay in the name so ... check which one if you book for lunchdinner. Erica was great at emailing responses to a few questions and Phil was always on hand on site. I hope to influence my old college buddies to do it all again next year.....

We stayed at Rhydygaled last week with my husband and three children. The cottage is beautifully maintained, well equipped and very comfortable. We had a lovely relaxing week in a stunning location, we will definitely book to visit again.
Lovely large cottage for an away from it all, restful break. Exceptionally well equipped although an extra frying pan would be welcome, very comfortable sofas & beds & a quality large TV. I can highly recommend it. Beautifully decorated for Xmas & the welcome gift of prosecco & chocolates was very much appreciated. It was lovely to have a log fire in the evenings while watching TV & seeing all the beautiful birds feasting at the bird feeder in the garden. Friendly & helpful owners owners next door if needed, but total privacy otherwise. There were a few niggles, which is why I couldn't rate it as totally 5 star. I had requested that the twin beds be made as one, which had been forgotten. The downstairs bedroom is unusable for anyone who suffers from asthma & I suffered a bit at night in the bedroom above. There were no issues with allergies in the rest of the house. Also we were woken in the morning by knocking pipes in this bedroom, when the central heating kicked in. The property is very difficult to find in the dark. As the cottage is set back from the road, I would recommend showing an image of the house opposite in the directions to indicate arrival at the stone driveway, & maybe a bigger sign. The weather was terrible during our stay but it didn't spoil our enjoyment, as the cottage was like a home from home. I would definitely stay again if in the area in the future.
Very welcoming. Cottage is beautiful, clean and comfortable outside and in. Was very well equipped for all eventualities. Lots of birds to watch for. All in all a gem of a place.
Erica and Phil are the most amazing hosts. The house is beautiful, spacious with lots of character and comfortable beds. Set in a stunning location with the added bonus of an enclosed field which our dog loved. Would highly recommend. Thank you again for a fantastic holiday.
Shirley
One of the nicest cottages we have stayed in. With the friendliest but unobtrusive hosts . So peaceful with amazing views.
This is a really lovely cottage set in beautiful countryside so peaceful. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The cottage is equipped with absolutely everything you might need. The pool is an added bonus and we were lucky enough to have the weather to be able to use it!
Natalie
We absolutely loved our stay in Rhydygaled. The cottage was comfy and cosy but really spacious and has been kitted out and decorated really thoughtfully. I also loved the incredibly wellequipped kitchen. I was able to bake, no problem crumbles, bread and cake. It was also great to stay somewhere that had genuinely enough tableware and cutlery for a larger family, without having to constantly be washing up. The modernisations to the cottage are excellent showers and bathrooms are great with funky mirror lights that made me feel like a Jedi switching them on by waving! and the TV bed in the master bedroom was an excellent surprise. We all enjoyed watching the birds at the bird feeder and spotting owls in the evenings. The pool was amazing, especially in the hot weather and we all enjoyed meeting sweet little Mim, the resident cat, whose meow and loud purr will stay with us. The stash of games was really appreciated as well we played a number of games of the Simpsons Cluedo and The Game of Life and our kids enjoyed playing chess. I cant overstate how gorgeous the views are at the property or how peaceful it is. The drives down the narrow lanes were absolutely worth it and we wouldnt hesitate to book again in the future.
This is a gem of a hideaway. Do not book this if you are not happy with one lane country roads. It's so peaceful or it was until the kids discovered the swimming pool!. Stunning views & countryside around , I would definitely book this again!
Claire
Beautiful property with every conceivable item a family could need for cooking, relaxing and to . Ake a perfect stay. Pool towels were provided, beautiful hand & bath towels and bedding make for a very comfortable stay. The pool is a fabulous addition, as it is heated we were able to use despite the changing weather. The selection of seating areas, indoors and outdoors along with birds that are attracted to the stunning gardens make it a peaceful, relaxing retreat Erica and Phil are excellent hosts, they are on hand if needed but totally unobtrusive too, and are super helpful and friendly, the perfect balance. We would love to return and definitely recommend a stay at Rhydygaled. Thank you for a lovely stay and thoughtful extras.
Lovely hosts and lovely location! The house was very cosy and rooms were all clean and good sizes. The kitchen had everything you could want and more. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend. The only improvement I could say is some areas in the living room and dining room were a bit messy and we found a few things from the previous guests.
Jennifer
Lovely cottage, enjoyed pleasant evenings in front of the log burner. Kitchen very well equipped. Cottage nice and clean. Super comfy beds. Beautiful location, very peaceful. Phil and Erica very friendly.
They were wonderful owners and very helpful when the power cut out during the first night. They were very accommodating and thoughtful. We loved the cottage and will definitely be returning in the summer.
Madeleine
The cottage is lovely very comfortable, spacious and well equipped in the kitchen and for leisure activities. We loved watching the birds on the feeders through the kitchen window. The owners are next door, so handy for any questions or problems. The rooms were generally clean but there were cobwebs on every light fitting, and dead spiders and cobwebs in the corners of rooms. There's plenty of sightseeing in the local area for a week's visit. It would have been nice to know that the only access to the cottage is along singletrack, dark, muddy roads, so not suitable for walking along, especially at night.
Amanda
We had a wonderful stay, the cottage is beautiful. The whole cottage was well equips and the little touches were loveky. That said, a high chair would have been a big help.
Beautiful cottage, well equipped with everything you could need. amazing surroundings, great field for dog to run around in. ideal location for travelling around the area.
Great property, tucked away in the Welsh countryside. Lots of family games indoor and outdoor available. Pool was a hit, and the nearby Waterfall is well worth a visit.
Bikash
Phil and Erica was an amazing host. Ready to help anytime. The place was peaceful and beautiful to stay specially the swimming pool was icing on the cake. We enjoyed our time there and return back in future.
Claire
This is a lovely and remote cottage. The cottage had everything we could need for a holiday. The pool was fantastic and we enjoyed swimming every day.
Elaine

Georgina
We had a fantastic week and Rhydygaled it was a beautiful cottage in gorgeous grounds and countryside. Perfect for visiting other areas of interest. We loved the pool, the birds in the garden and had everything we needed within the house. The welcome pack and extras were very welcome above and beyond. The owners are onsite if needed and very helpful. Thanks again Phil and Erica for lovely week. We would definitely recommend and return in the future.
Cheryl
The house is lovely and we felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. The views from the house are beautiful and the garden is lovely. The weather was so warm that one night I sat outside listening to the owls and looking at the moon and stars until one in the morning, I even saw the international space station fly over. If you are looking for peace and quiet and dark skies, this house is perfect.
Mohammad J
Thank you Phil and Erica for our amazing stay! Our family were very comfortable throughout our trip, we loved the cottage with its character and attention to detail. The owners went out of their way to make sure our young son was comfortable, and were helpful with any queries we had before or during our stay.
The house is excellent with lots and lots of nice homely touches. There are plenty of things to do in the local area within half an hour drive. Heartily recommended.
Vanessa
Such a lovely place to stay, home from home, unbelievably well equiped and just so comfy. Great location for exploring local waterfalls and lakes, lovely setting... just looking out the windows was amazing as the views and location is stunning. I took my family and my mom and sister came too for one day and night, so we had 8 in total. There was plenty of sleeping room, the cottage was cosy and warm. We ate round the table together and I loved the kitchen which had everything you would need and more. Am sure in the summer it is lovely sitting out round the pool, we had a couple of sunny mornings and sat out the front with a brew which was great. The communication from the hosts on the lead up to our stay was fabulous too, which helps when you haven't been somewhere before. Loved it and would love to go back!
Lovely property in a quiet, remote location. Everything we needed and more in the kitchen. Lovely touches around the cottage e.g. blankets, shampoo, moisturiser etc. We didnt make use of the garden due to the weather but plenty of outdoor space, and our dog was shattered every night!! Would definitely recommend a stay here!
Alexander
This is just the perfect rural cottage getaway! We could easily have spent the whole time just inside the huge house. The kids loved it. As it was raining outside for most of our stay, we didn't even get to explore much of the garden and surrounding area. I would highly recommend this place for both a cozy winter's retreat and a summer's adventure! Thank you Phil and Erica! Hope to see you again!
Our second stay at this lovely remote cottage and once again we had a very relaxing stay, with the grandkids and everyone enjoying the cottage, the grounds and the swimming pool. The whole family very pleased to see the farm cat, ponies and birds feeding again.
Stunning house with amazing views and lovely pool . We visited the waterfall , snowdon and Powis castle all beautiful. We would highly recommend for a family holiday.
Great place to stay. Enjoyed by all the family.
We had a wonderful stay at rhydygaled, the cottage is beautiful and big and the scenery is gorgeous. We all enjoyed the lovely pool and enjoyed saying morning to mim the cat and the two horses. I would of gave it five stars if the downstairs bed was bigger and wasnt so springy. The cottage was perfect for our family having four bedrooms and three bathrooms. We would definitely recommend a stay here. Thankyou to the owners who were very prompt in thier reply when we text them with questions
This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location and just a short drive from the village. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and well equipped. The layout was ideal for us as the downstairs accommodation was perfect for the older members of our family . Would highly recommend.
This was a very wellneeded break with friends after over two years apart, and from the moment we arrived, the host made us feel incredibly welcome. The facilities were perfect for our party of eight singles, and there was plenty of space for people to socialise or to spend a little quiet time away from the rest of the group. From the photos online, it's difficult to get a sense of just how peaceful this property is, and the night sky is utterly breathtaking. This was a truly magical stay, and we can't wait to return
Allison
Phil the owner was very helpful. The cottage you just could not fault. It was lovely, well stocked, warm and comfortable. The pool was amazing. We all had a brilliant relaxing holiday.
Very remote cottage that was perfect for all our large family 5 adults and 3 young children to get away from it all. Location really worked for us and a few very nice places to visit near by, and the scenery was beautiful as everywhere looked so lush and green. We will hopefully return some time in the near future.
