The Manor House Reviews

Rebecca
We had a perfect family Christmas at the Manor House. Bringing a large family together is never easy but the Manor was great in every way, amazing size kitchen, very comfortable bedrooms and lots of bathrooms. Beautiful location too would highly recommend.
A very nice country house in beautiful surroundings. Nice mix of old and modern, well equipped kitchen, and a very helpful ownermanager who responded promptly to all our questions and needs

Door handles need changing and wifi was very weak.
A lovely house in a wonderful setting. We were a family group of 16 and it worked really well. The new barbecue was much appreciated. The little children loved the ponds and friendly ducks and the teenagers enjoyed the pool table. Great walks nearby and nearby town of Ellesmere so pretty plus easy access to Shrewsbury. Would recommend the canoeing. Thank you I hope to come again
Alexandra

We had a fantastic stay. 3 generations from 707months. The house worked for all of us. Great area in the garden for the kiddies to have outdoor fun. Yummy cakes on arrival. Thanks to Jane & Andrew
Really enjoyed our stat over New Year. Great house in a lovely location. Amazing views. Really helpful and accommodating owner.
Thanks for a wonderful stay we really enjoyed it. Couldnt have asked for more!

A lot of the door handles were loose & falling out, one guest got locked in the toilet & had to shout out the window for help, luckily a passer by saw her & knocked on the door. The pool table needed repair, the cues were in bad condition, the pockets needed repairing, the balls were going on the floor when potted. We did one quick wash in the washing machine & that started leaking. We had to take it In turns to have a shower as there wasnt hot water all day as we had to wait for the tank to fill up. We all had a great time but feel for what we paid the house desperately needed modernisation. The ground floor bedroom next to the kitchen, the ceiling was flaking & each day the guest woke up to small bits of it on her bed. A dirty pair of knickers was found in one of the guest rooms, also a plug had to be rewired by one of the guests who was a qualified electrician & mirror light in one of the bathrooms wasnt working. I would recommend this house is good for 12 guests and not 16 as put on your website. Only one bath for the whole house and five showers and one was only cold water.

We are a party of 9 adults of mixed ages and 2 children under 10. We chose this location to celebrate a 60th birthday and we were not disappointed. Fabulous property for large group. Plenty of space to be together or seperate for chill out time. All bedrooms are large and we had no disagreements on who was going to have which bedroom! Jane was a fantastic host and thank you for the cake and wine on arrival. Thank you for the wonderful stay. Hope to come back soon.
Sophie
Very nice welcome from hosts, without being intrusive. The Manor House is a lovely building and was perfect for our party of fifteen, including children. Every room has more than adequate space. The land around the property is beautiful and inviting for walks in all types of weather. There is a lovely pub, cafe, village shop and a children's playground no more than a twenty minute walk away. We will definitely be looking into going back.
Thank you so much to Jane for making us feel so at home at The Manor House at Kenwick Lodge. Everywhere was clean and tidy as we arrived, and the welcome gifts were much appreciated. It was lovely to have you on site, and any little thing was dealt with so promptly. What a wonderful location too. So many different places to visit. Thank you again!
This property was very spacious and fairly well equipped in all areas. The setting and views are lovely and ideal for celebrations or for relaxing holiday. It is also a good base for visiting several places of interest. The owner is very helpful and we would definitely like to visit again

A wonderful and pleasant experience. We were around 16 people. Rooms are spacious, clean and in great order. WiFi was available and it made amends to the patchy mobile signal reception in the area. Above all, Jane and Andrew were fantastic hosts. They made sure that our stay was stress and hassle free. We are planning to visit again. I would recommend The Manor House to anyone looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday set in a rural backdrop.
What a brilliant stay! The property and setting where wonderful! We went with a larger group of friends and the property was ideal for hosting the group! So much so that a few of the party are looking at brining family back so its ideal for both group and larger family events! The hosts where always on hand to help and although we didnt need anything it was nice to know that they where there if we did! Fantastic place, highly recommend!

Stayed for a weekend with 8 old school friends, Jane came to meet on arrival and was friendly and helpful. There was plenty of space for us all inside and all the rooms were lovely. The views were incredible. We walked to the end of the lane to the Woodcock Inn to eat on the Satuday which was also very good. The weather was cool for the time of year but we still enjoyed the garden and there was a pool table and table football to occupy us when it was raining. overall a really good value property.
What a lovely stay we had the house is beautiful and so much room for us. The kids loved seeing the ducks everyday and not too far from places we were going. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely stunning and perfect property for our friends weekend reunion. Manor House was the perfect venue for us. There was lots of space, it was really clean, had all the right equipment and the beds and facilities were excellent. It was toasty warm, very comfortable and made us all feel relaxed and at home. We really enjoyed our staff and the owner was friendly and happy. We will find a reason to have another reunion that is much less than 5 years apart. Great place. 100 recommend.
An excellent venue for our New Year gathering. Very comfortable and spacious with amazing views. The little extra touches on arrival homemade cake, Prosecco and chocolates were very much appreciated. Would definitely book again!

We spent a wonderful family Christmas at The Manor House. There was plenty of room for 14 of us, with spacious bedrooms and enough bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook a full Christmas dinner, and the kitchen was also a very sociable place with its large dining table. The children enjoyed playing hide and seek in the house, as well as using the pool table and football table, and also playing football in the large garden despite the wet weather. The house was lovely and warm actually too warm on the first night, but the owners helped us to adjust the thermostat. The walk to the village using footpaths across muddy fields provided fresh air, although we didnt manage to visit the local pub as it was only open in the evenings, and we didnt fancy the walk in the dark across the fields or along the country lane. But we didnt miss it as we had plenty of Christmas food at the house and a comfortable living room to relax in! Overall this was a great house, and perfect for our Christmas holidays.

We had a very nice stay at Kenwick Lodge. There was plenty of space for us all to enjoy. The kitchen was a great space for gathering, chatting and preparing food. It's just a shame we had bad weather and weren't able to enjoy the countryside. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely large house in extensive grounds and beautiful views. Plenty of room for all the family. Very clean and nice surprise with the delicious cakes on arrival. Would have liked a hairdryer and pool table needs some repairs but didn't spoil our holiday. Thank you to the friendly owners for a great a Easter
Jane and Andrew gave us a lovely welcome on arrival. The house is ideal for a family holiday with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Comfortable beds. We would like to come again in better weather.!
Graham
We booked the Manor House because it could accommodate all four close families. Unfortunately our USA family were unable to join us due to COVID restrictions but the remaining three families including six young cousins had a wonderful time together. The house itself is ideal for large groups very comfortable and spacious and the surrounding lawns are ideal for outdoor life. Our host and hostess were very helpful and hospitable and we hope to return again in the nottoodistant future.

The Manor House is very well equipped for large groups. It was very clean and tidy when we arrived and the owner was friendly and welcoming. WiFi was ok but it is rural and phone signal was erratic. All more than made up by the fantastic views and lack of noise.
Fab house for a group. A little tired in places but the rooms are big and the grounds are fab. Lots of nice walks in the area and the fishing pond was well used . Would recommend for a group but its not In perfect Condition which makes you more relaxed as not worried about any damage being done ! Owners very friendly and came to fix a couple of small issues for us immediately once pointed out.
We were most impressed with the warm welcome we received from our host Jane and that she had remembered that this was a birthday celebration. The card, cakes and wine did exceed our expectations! The farmhouse was spotless ,everything needed was to hand so we had a very enjoyable stay .Thank you.
Beautiful views
The location and host were amazing
This was a lastminute booking as we were celebrating a 40th birthday and our camping plans had to be abandoned due to bad weather. The house is lovely with amazing views over quintessential English countryside. It was very quiet and peaceful far from any main road. We were a party of 13 6 adults and 7 little people aging from 10 3. There was plenty of space for everyone in the large house and round the kitchen table. Lots of cupboard space in the bedrooms. The beds are all super comfortable. The garden is enclosed and flat, so good for ball games. Lots of ensuites and a luxurious bathroom, a big lounge with plenty seating, and the pool table all helped to make the bad weather not an issue at all. There are a couple of other holiday cottages in the complex but we barely saw them and never heard them. There is also a beehive at the far end of the garden but this wasn't an issue at all. All in all, it was a lovely stay in a beautiful place.
