New Hall Reviews

Gorgeous house and brilliant for groups with children as the large rooms could take families very comfortably. Also well equipped with games, high chairs and nice and warm even while snowing outside. It was perfect for us and well definitely be coming back. Thanks Caz!
Joanne
We had a fantastic family get together at New Hall 14 of us plus 2 babies and 2 little ones, aged from 6 months to 90! House is lovely and warm, well equipped, comfortable and clean. We made good use of the pool room and even managed to cook a Christmas dinner. There were a couple of niggles the fire in hall smoked alarmingly when lit so we didn't use again house was warm enough, we could have done with instructions for the induction hob which we just couldn't get to work, some more racks for the oven and Aga, more roasting trays, and all the kitchen knives need sharpening. However none of these small points would stop us from booking again. Please note there are no bedrooms or bathroom on the ground floor and all the showers in the house are over a bath so could be a bit tricky for those with mobility problems. We loved our stay here.
The house was 'quirky ' and warn will a well equipped kitchen. However, there were many trip hazards from flooring changing between rooms and loose animal skin rugs in a couple of bathrooms. If I was selling thus house I'd describe it as comfortable clean but in need of repair. More info on outside recycling bins would have been useful.
All great! Just as it was described. All very tidy. Everything worked as it should. Welcome was great. A good time was had by all.
We had a great weekend as a group of 13 at New Hall. The house is amazing with plenty of space for all. There was plenty of fridge space and cooking equipment. We went for a lovely walk from the house, to Chirk castle which is right next door, then along to the aqueduct down the canal. Communication with Caz was great, she let us in and showed us around on arrival. I highly recommend this house for large groups of friends or family as a getaway.
One bedroom door wouldnt shut, could have done with a key to door nearest rubbish bins also previous guests didnt put out recycling and rubbish bin did not have much room left for our rubbish over half full when we arrived. These were only minor problems did not spoil our stay.
The house is perfect for groups of families. Our group was 6 adults and 5 kids and there were two bedrooms to spare. Loads of space to spread out. Cara was great providing us with information about the house and was on hand for any queries. The grounds are great and only a few minutes walk from Chirk castle. We will definitely return.
We enjoyed our stay here. It has everything you need in the kitchen and the sitting room, pool room and hall are great, we had some fun evenings all together 15 of us ranging from 4 months to 68 years old. Slight surprise that there is no live TV, but maybe thats what catchup is for when you go home! Heating and hot water all good. WiFi worked fine across the house, although not enough juice to livestream. The grounds were nice, although the weather meant we couldn't use them as much as we hoped. Plenty of parking, and we made friends with the cow and calves in the adjoining fields! Cara, the house manager is great, friendly and helpful and quick to get back to me in response to a query. The welcome basket was a lovely touch too. Bedrooms are pleasant, vary considerably in size, and have plenty of storage. Some beds are more comfortable than others, none are dreadful, but some show signs of age like the people who slept on them! Bathrooms are fine but could use a little maintenance there were a couple of pull switches that were temperamental an extract fan that wouldnt turn off in one and another pull switch for ceiling light and fan that only worked when it felt like it. These are niggles rather than major issues though. We had a good time. The niggles did not detract from the overall experience, which is of a warm, well equipped property with plenty of space for larger parties, and a really helpful friendly house manager. Happy to recommend.

Cara was fantastic before arrival and on arrival. She showed us around the place, which was fantastic and beyond our expectations. A perfect place to stay for large groups exploring the ChirkLlangollen area. We made great use of the Kitchen, pool table, gardens and Bbq!
New Hall is absolutely amazing! If you're considering, then don't hesitate. The house is enormous and the grounds are stunning. 6 double rooms and a twin, and I think 5 additional sofa beds if you needed them. Great for big family gatherings!
What a fantastic spot and home to our family get together! Everything worked, Cara was delightfully welcoming and relaxed, the spaces all beautifully homely and well provisioned. We managed to fit a lot of cooking into the huge kitchen. Everyone fit around the tables even including the miniature frogs that the smallest children adopted for the weekend! We lost noone in the moat and loved all the outdoor corners for our huge barbecue in the most glorious of English summer sunshine. We all felt very much at home. Much love, laughter and yes, pool! I'd recommend New Hall to any large family wanting their own space to visit. I think we all did the castle and aquaduct too.
We have just returned from a fantastic few days staying in New Hall. The house was beautiful and homely. The rooms were clean and comfortable. On our arrival we were met by Cara who was incredibly friendly and helpful. There was also a lovely basket full of lovely Welsh products for us to enjoy. The only issue was the induction hob which we felt was a little complicated. We would have benefited from some instructions, but this was a minor inconvenience. The house was fully equipped with everything we required for a comfortable stay. We highly recommend New Hall.
Stewart
Lovely big property with great grounds. Excellent well equipped, warm kitchen with Aga. Bedrooms and bathrooms clean and bright. Cara, house manager was so friendly and helpful. A really good, informative house file was available but it would be great to have a walk from the Hall doorstep included if there is a walk available. Only other suggestion would be to have some permanent seating areas in the garden. Had a brilliant stay!
Andrew
The listing doesnt do this place justice. Easy to find, absolutely massive, super interesting old house, many rooms of different shapes and sizes, the grounds are lovely and well maintained, gloriously warm inside, and not far to the town if you fancy a cross country walk, or a short drive. Many places within and around the property to take some time for yourself if you want a break from your friendsfamily. Rave reviews within the stag chat group. Communication was super easy, too.

We were getting together for a family holiday with our children and grandchildren a party of 12 aged from 4 years upwards, including teenagers. New Hall provided us with an ideal venue in a beautiful part of the country with access to lots of walks and interesting excursions. We were blessed with seven days of beautiful spring weather, which made out stay even more enjoyable. The house was spacious, comfortable, very well equipped, full of character and had a fantastic garden. The pool table in the games room was popular with everyone. Cara, the house manager, was very friendly and helpful, both before and during our stay, and was always available to answer questions. She kept the property beautifully clean and the basket of Welsh produce provided on our arrival was a special treat and very welcome. If the opportunity arises, we would happily go again.

Lovely, clean cottage in a very quiet area. Quite big but very cosy. Great for family gatherings. Host been helpful all the way through, waited us with a complementary goodie basket and showed us around the property. Kitchen had everything we needed with a lot of storage space. Comfy beds and clean linen. A nice activity room with a pool table and huge sitting area with fireplace. We had a lovely time and we would recommend this place.
