Old Ship Cottage Reviews

Francesca
Lovely location and comfortable place to stay on holiday. We were a family with adults and young chidren joining from various places to celebrate a special birthday. Waving at the steam trains, walking by the river and visiting the Engine Room museum contributed to the special memories. Cooked breakfast from the pub nextdoor and handy takeaway in local Highley also very helpful.
Gill
Beautiful setting for a lovely cottage. We visited as 3 generations and all enjoyed the setting and the lovely house. None of us wanted to go home. The pub next door does good food, and friendly staff. A great holiday with beautiful countryside and lovely walks.
Allen
We enjoyed our weekend break with family, The cottage's ambience was greatly enjoyed and appreciated by all. We dined out at the Ship Inn on several occasions, and were greatly impressed with not only the standard of food, combined with professionalism and work ethics of the staff, which added to a very enjoyable visit. A Gem of a country pub in every sense. We shall return.
Emma
Great experience from speaking to the owner a couple of days before holiday who mentioned things we might need, places to walk, nice pubs etc! House clean and as described. Lovely having the steam trains running and trip on them! Lots of events at the steam museum few minutes walk away. The Ship Inn food was good we ate there a couple of times and staff very friendly. Even with typical British weather good time had by all.
Matt
Lovely property in a great location, the hosts also very kindly decorated the cottage for Christmas. All in all a lovely stay, thank you.
Jenny
Great place. Kitchen area is great for seating & communal hub of house. We had a chinese delivered one night & sat drinking & playing games. On Sunday we went to The Ship inn for Sunday lunch which was good. The garden seating area looks good too unfortunately no trains running this weekend (which we knew) So will return sometime in better weather

Great location, plenty of room for a large family or group of friends. The standard of cleanliness was the only thing that let the property down
Louise
Beautiful, well equipped cottage in a brilliant location! My family consisted of five adults, one child, two French bulldogs and a Cockapoo We spent four days over the new year here and it didn't disappoint. The cottage was lovely and warm, with plenty of room for us all to relax in. The pub next door was great, we had our tea in there the one night and we were able to take our dogs with us which is bonus. We will very much like to return here, we loved it! We would love to return again.
