Grove Farm Reviews

Grove Farm is an excellent choice for groups of friends or families looking for comfortable accommodation in idyllic countryside. Although over 300 years old, the building has been renovated to a very high standard throughout, and the six spacious bedrooms, all with en suites, are complemented by a massive kitchen diner and two sitting rooms on the ground floor. Altogether very highly recommended.

Spectacular property in a magnificent location with wonderful views of the Shropshire Hills in a lovely village of Cardington. With easy access to local walks from Church Stretton, towns such as Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Ironbridge. There was plenty of parking for 6 cars and the garden was immaculate. The house was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped for a large group. As a group of 12 friends meeting up for our annual get together it was absolutely perfect. The spacious bedrooms, with amazingly comfortable beds, everyone slept well, each having an ensuite was so perfect. The large dining table made a such enormous difference enabling very sociable meals and a quiz night to happen. The homemade welcome cake was scrumptious and greatly appreciated. It was an absolute pleasure for all of us to meet the owners and their children, not forgetting Bluebell, the pony. We would definitely come back in the future.
Chrissy
Everyone in our group from young to old loved this space. Everything is finished very well, clean and well kept. Its a well thought out space. There was good circulation space around the kitchen, dining and living areas good for kids running around and plenty of spaces to socialise. The large dining table made a big difference to eating together. Seeing the sheep and lambs while being indoors was great! The kids loved the outside space, and they could play freely as we could see them through various windows in the house. WiFi was good. Oven worked well. Beds were very comfortable, everyone slept well. Delicious homemade cake on arrival. Suggestions baking trays and sharper knives. Bathroom lights were very sensitive, sometimes turning on with no one in. Electric car charger would tip this over 1010.
Angela
Beautiful house. Spotlessly clean & well stocked, with very comfy beds. The setting is stunning. We had a family catch up there and the little ones loved the sheep with lambs and bluebell the pony in the adjacent field. Would highly recommend. Owner lives close by and was lovely, very friendly
Stunning! I do not usually write reviews but Grove Farm was fantastic in every way. Stunning cottage in a stunning location with easy access to local walks from Church Stretton, towns such as Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Ironbridge as well as several National Trust properties. The house was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped for large groups, including two fridgefreezers and sufficient crockery and glasses to still have a drink or food whilst the dishwasher was on! As a group of 10 very old university friends meeting up from all over the country, there was plenty of parking for 6 cars. The welcome homemade cake was scrumptious and the spacious bedrooms, each with an ensuite perfect. The large square dining table rather than rectangular made for very sociable meals. Unfortunately we couldnt get into the walkable local pub for Sunday lunch suggest booking in advance!
Andrea
The house is superb for large family gatherings of all ages. There were 11 of us from age 14 79. Great pub in the village and the food there was great. We used it as a base to go to RAF Cosford Museum, Shrewsbury, a drive up Long Mynd and Acton Scott Heritage Farm. The facilities in the house were amazing and a lovely large table to sit everyone. 2 sitting rooms were brilliant. Highly recommended and the sheep, lambs and pony in the adjacent field were a pleasure to watch.
We stayed at Grove Farm for a 50th birthday celebration. It was perfect from start to finish. The home made cake on our arrival was most welcome after our journey. We would highly recommend this property. The location was fantastic and there was plenty for us all to do in the local area. We enjoyed a evening meal at the village pub. Aged range of group 783.

A wonderful house with everything we needed and more besides. This was our 2nd visit and would rank as perhaps the best property we have visited on annual basisin nearly 20 yrs , especially located where it is, in the beautiful area of Shropshire. The owners next door were especially helpful and accommodating in giving us up to date guidance on the extreme weather conditions on our day of arrival. We would recommend this property without any reservations and would imagine it would be perfect for a spring or summer family holiday as well.
Joanne
Had a wonderful weekend, Grove Farm is perfect for larger gatherings & lots of local walks close by.
Beautiful house, beautiful area. House had everything needed to make your stay comfortable.
Eleanor
We had a very relaxed and happy time at Grove Farm the property is in a beautiful location and was perfect for a stay with extended family. We did have some issues finding the property using Google maps which seems certain Grove Farm is a different property in the same village! It might be worth updating the detailed directions to note this and provide a more detailed description of its location. We would love to revisit at some point.
Elaine
Stayed at Grove Farm for a family celebration in October and had the most wonderful time. The property is immaculate and perfect for large groups, with everyone having either a king or super king bed and an ensuite. Two interconnected lounges were ideal for families with children. The well stocked open kitchen and huge dining table were perfect for our needs. We also appreciated the home baked cake on arrival. Ideally situated for Shrewsbury and Ludlow. We enjoyed a walk around Carding Mill Moor and a visit to Church Stretton. Highly recommend.
Every year we 12 ladies meet to spend time together. We used to all live in the same village, but most have since moved away so this is a really important time for us. To walk, read, eat, drink, and more. We try to chose places with enough rooms and, more imortantly, bathrooms to accomodate us all. This house in Shropshire has all of this and more. Recently renovated to an exceptional standard, we were delighted to spend 5 glorious days here. Every room is fabulous even the bunk room had it's own bathroom and just as important, there is a downstairs loo! Everything we needed was provided in the kitchen. We loved the random collection of chairs around the huge table that fitted the space perfectly. We watched the world go by as well as the robot grass cutter from the ultimate comfort of two chairs placed just so. Two living rooms meant that there was always space for everyone, even if one of us wanted to be quiet that didn't happen very often! We even organised a quiz night so the two rooms were perfect for this purpose. Every bed was comortable, every room spotlessly clean, every need met. The village is an ideal base for walks directly from the house or a short drive away. We would recomend Ashes Valley from Little Stretton as our favourite. There were ponies to talk to and the family were so welcoming. We are in the process of booking for next year already.

Grove Farm was a very lovely cottage. We were there as a family celebrating 2 big birthdays. It was very modern but yet had the beautiful decor. Ensuites in every room, lovely scenery and landscapes.
Absolutely stunning property. Spotless, well equipped and so much space. Had a fantastic weekend catching up with friends. Met the owner shortly after arrival who was really friendly. Couldn't fault a thing! Highly recommended.
Bridget
Grove Farm was lovely and suited our needs perfectly. The family live next door and were really friendly and helpful. The house is super and great for a large group.
We had a wonderful stay at Grove Farm for a family birthday, and what can I say? ! The property is absolutely lovely and perfect for a larger group of adults and children. So nice to all be able to sit together to share a meal or game at the table, and to spend time in the garden as well. Cardington is a very beautiful village and we enjoyed walking round it as well as popping to the local pub. Listening to the church bells and watching the birds and wildlife was so relaxing and just what was needed! Rhiann is an extremely generous and responsive host, and we couldn't recommend staying here highly enough. We'd love to come back!
Everything about his stay was perfect. Hosts, home everything.
Spacious, comfortable and well equipped and furnished with a lovely ambience, a very relaxing place to be. Grove Farm exceeded our expectations and we have a wonderful time. Great for exploring the local area, and a short stroll from the village pub. The owners are friendly and welcoming. This house ranks with the very best we have stayed in over a few years of renting holiday homes.
Elizabeth
We were very happy with the delightful property its facilities and environs. The property's owner lives nextdoor and she was very welcoming and helpful in every way. We had a wonderful time and would recommend the property to anyone.
We loved our stay at Grove farm! It is such a comfortable, clean and fresh house, equipped with everything you need. The owners are lovely and very responsive. There were delicious homemade flapjacks and daffodils in the property on arrival. A stunning area of the country to explore.
Booked for a 60th Birthday with friends 9 Had a fabulous time. Everything in situ what you could have wished for . WIFI excellent. Surroundings beautiful. Superbly furnished throughout.Would definitely recommend and we will be going back. Lovely host, nextdoor if needed anything.
Wow when we arrived. Outside and inside is as pictured on the website. Its a new site and the attention to detail is exceptional. A lot of love and thought has been put into the design and furnishings. We were a party of 7 2 couples and 3 singles and the accommodation was just right. All bedrooms are ensuite with large beds and comfortable matresses. We were lucky with the weather early March and breakfast with bifold doors open was ever relaxing. Kitchen fully appointed as you would expect. Instructions were clear and concise particularly with regard to waste and recycling. We did not use the wood burning stoves as the ground underfloor heating and radiators in the bedrooms were more than adequate. The Royal Oak is a small local that is closed on Monday and serves food only Wednesday to Sunday lunchtime. If I would make a couple of points about the switches and WiFi. There are a lot of light switches downstairs for interior and exterior lighting and even though they are labeled it can still be confusing. Also, the WiFi distribution about the property is not consistant. For my iPhone on latest OS I could not get a signal at ground level. In this area there is no normal phone signal so WiFi is essential. The two TVs would not connect to the WiFI. But all in all, it was a warm, comfortable and quiet place to spend a family gathering to celebrate a special birthday.
Rachel
Amazing place, well equipped and lovely touch of the cake, which was needed after the 4 hour hike! would happily go back
Beautiful cottage in a quiet location within easy reach of Church Stretton. It was the perfect place for 10 of us to welcome in the New Year. The owners were on hand to deal with a couple of small issues that arose they couldnt do enough for us. Would definitely stay again!
Grove Farm is beautifully appointed and a very comfortable property. It has a lovely homely feel and was perfect for a family get together. The owners came to introduce themselves who were lovely, informative and very helpful. I highly recommend this property and we will be returning again, hopefully next year!
Caroline
This is a beautiful property and so spacious. We absolutely loved it. It was also spotless. All the rooms are lovely. The house is so warm especially with the log fire. The owner checked in on us and was very friendly. They also left us a cake too which was lovely thanks!. My daughter and I went for a walk around the countryside and the views were stunning. Definitely recommend.
Amazing property, to a very high standard. Perfect for our extended family group of four families kids, adults and grandparents! Thank you for a fantastic stay.
